Kudos for CARES
During the past few months CARES received some great awards:
First, CARES won the National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval, recognition much coveted in the world of children's equipment.
Then we were named an IParent Media Winner, and cited as a "very practical 'must have' product for traveling parents."
Finally, we received the Mr. Dad's Award for making travel life easier for the Dads. They said CARES "means more energy - and less back pain - to spend with the kiddies."
Find the details about these awards on the "News and Links" page of the CARES website - www.kidsflysafe.com.
CARES Goes International
CARES continues its trek to gain world-wide certification. The big news is that CARES was recently approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand for use on all New Zealand aircraft. It joins our recent certification in Australia. Canada is "on the brink" of approval, and we're waiting for formal notification from Israel and Switzerland. The European Union is still pending. We know people are using CARES on some European airlines...If you have already flown on European or Asian airlines with CARES we'd love to know! Remember, CARES is certified for use on all US airlines, both domestic and international flights.
Check Out the New CARES Photo Gallery
A new page on our website is posting the lovely photos parents from around the world have sent us of their kids in CARES. If you've got one - email it to Louise@kidsflysafe.com . If you haven't - snap a picture next time you fly. We'd love to post it! (We use first names only.)
Flight Attendants Welcome CARES
Complaints about airline personnel challenging parents who want to use CARES have definitely declined as more flight attendants receive their annual update training and are seeing CARES on planes.
Airline websites and ticket agents still may not be up to date, however, so we still encourage you to carry the FAA Advisory Circular 120-87A "Use of Child Restraint Systems on Aircraft", even though it is lengthy, and the FAA Website "Flying Safely with Kids" (which is only 2 pages long) when you fly. Both can be downloaded from the "News and Links" page of the www.kidsflysafe.com website.
CARES Showcased at International Aviation Conference
CARES got a great reception at the International Aviation Interiors Show in Hamburg, Germany in April. This fall CARES will be exhibited at the American Academy of Pediatrics Annual Meeting in San Francisco and at the Safe Kids World Wide Leadership Conference in Washington DC.
Who's Talking About CARES?
We continue to receive lots of reports from happy parents flying with kids and CARES. There are now over 11,000 CARES out there. Check out "What Users Say" on the CARES website for recent comments.
CARES continues to be featured on news programs like the CBS Early Show and in magazine and newspaper articles about travel and kids like USA Today, the Miami Herald, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It's being discussed and applauded in lots of blogs and E-newsletters including : www.flyingwithkids.com; www.jetwithkids.com; www.travelingwithkids.com; www.passporter.com; and www.momsfavoritestuff.com to name a few.
Want to Help Us Get the Word Out?
CARES users often tell us: "I love using my CARES and I have told all my friends about it!" Here are some other simple ways to help us spread the word:
- Email your friends and family - your personal endorsement is a great testimonial for CARES.
- Chime in on your favorite Website or Blog - traveling with kids is a topic of endless discussion.
- Help CARES get local - If your local newspaper hasn't discovered CARES yet suggest a story to the travel or lifestyle editor. (You can usually do this by email.)
Thank you for helping us to get the word out. And do continue to e-mail us your CARES stories - the good ones as well as the problems - and photos of your kids in CARES.
Regards,
Louise Stoll, Managing Director, Kids Fly Safe, LLC (and the inventor)
